Here is Katharine Jackman, to bring you a that section that will be published monthly. My duties related to foreign affairs don't allow me to do it more often; but I hope it's worth it.
In this humble corner I am going to talk about anecdotes, creations and interesting facts from all the films of our favorite saga; and today I'm going to tell you about the incredible C3-PO.
The efficient android, funny and endearing, faithful friend of R2-D2 who made us laugh on more than one occasion at his clumsiness in the most everyday.
He is an android, designed for the service of humans to carry out these tasks, for which he masters six million forms of communication. The character appears in all nine episodes of the saga, he really is one of the few characters (along with R2-D2) that appear in all, or almost all, of the films. He also has appearances in the extended universe.
The golden android was played by actor Anthony Daniels and it really was a difficult role due to the complexity of the suit he wore.
Let's look at some examples of this.
Here we can see the actor in one of the first 'wardrobe' tests.
In order to rest, they built him a kind of special platform since he couldn't sit on a chair in that suit.
They had to help him to dress among several of the companions because his mobility was reduced
One of the people he got along best was the actress Carrie Fisher, the charming and warrior Princess Leia. And they didn't hesitate to dance, despite C3-PO's bulky outfit.
And, as an anecdote, I will say that In Episode IV (the first "Star Wars" movie to be filmed) he is the first character to speak, while in Episode III (the last movie Lucas filmed) it is this character. precisely the last to speak.
