Greetings from the Galactic side, dear Galaxians!
Have you ever wanted to travel across different planets and have an enjoyable holiday there? However for a matter you have no idea that which planets exist and which don’t? Or you are scared to hire a tour guide who lands you instead in the dangerous part of Hutt Cartel instead of a beautiful planet, where you wanted to Celebrate your Honeymoon?
Well, welcome to the second episode of Planetory Explorations! Well, we hope you liked Dathomir, and none of you actually visited it! Though, it did decrease in my Senatorial Income and well, I’m not really happy about it. So, Galaxians, As Naviagtors who explore the whole a galaxy, we have brought about a new Planet for. However, for this one, we don’t know… who will like this more, Jedi or the Sith. We present to you, Korriban!
Korriban. The Planet of the Sith Empire. Korriban was also known as Pesegam during the reign of Xim, and also known as Moraband by the time of the Clone Wars. It was the sole planet in the Horuset system, located across the galaxy from Koros Major. It was the Planet of the Sith species and a sacred planet for the Sith Empire, housing the tombs for many ancient and powerful Dark Lords of the Sith, and containing immense dark side power.
Korriban is located in the Outer Rim territories’s Esstran Sector. If you wish to go the Planet, you may either ask the Sith or visit it in the Horuset System. It has the Horuset Star as it’s sun, and well the home for 7 moons in total. Well, even possessong trade routes such as Daragon Trail, Kamat Krote and Nache Bhelfia. Word has it that it possess 28 Hours in a day, and well 780 days in an year. No wonder Sith have a lot of time for Practice.
The Sith Empire was founded in 6900 BBY by exiled fallen Jedi fleeing the Battle of Corbos, which concluded the Hundred-Year Darkness. The fallen Jedi landed on Korriban. Emerging from the Jedi Order, and accumulation people who did not wish to follow the rules and the regulations of the Jedis, became the “Sith”. An Empire of power, which focused upon the ideals of the strongest and the “mightiest will rule”. However, despite everything, they were great Strategists.
Due to the planet's harsh terrain, and the power of the dark side, Korriban's native fauna was both vicious and cunning, such as the fierce terentateks. The bat-like shyracks lived in great numbers in caves on the planet. Tuk'ata, sometimes called Sith hounds were also fairly common, particularly in the Valley of the Dark Lords. Dark side dragons, or Hssiss, could be found on Korriban, though as semi-aquatic creatures, they were quite rare. Wraids were also found on Korriban.
There is evidence that, at one point, the planet was home to an ape or primate-like species, although by the time of Naga Sadow the species was long extinct. Though it is possible that the primate-like species was somehow connected to the Sith species, no conclusive link between this species and the Sith species was known. The highly venomous pelko bug was an insect native to the planet, its venom had a potent numbing effect and was used in Sith training sabers by the Brotherhood of Darkness during the end of the New Sith War.
The Sith Academy was a facility in use since the Jedi Civil War, dedicated to training Force sensitives in the ways of the Sith, and running archaeological projects in the Valley of the Dark Lords. After the Great Hyperspace War, Korriban was abandoned and became a barren world. It was the site of a Sith Academy.
KORRIBAN REVIEWS
If you wish to visit Korriban, there is a Barren space port that can be utilized by your craft. However, also, there is this thing I would suggest that; if you are a lovey dovey couple, this still isn’t a friendly planet to visit. (We will find couple friendly planets I promise!.... One day.) However, if you are a Sith (or Honourary Sith ;) ) You can always visit your “native” planet for a nice Holiday, or if you are a Jedi; and wish to pew-pew practice a little, you know where to go. Galactic Republic… sorry, it’s a big no no. Well, Nothing to the Cartel, because they won’t listen to my advice anyways….
