What DO We Do In This Galaxy?

Have you ever found yourself wondering...what in the world is an Archivist? Well, you have come to the right Jawa! I am Shnou Vlery and with this dandy communications module I...liberated...I will explain exactly what all of our beautiful little jobs actually DO in the Galaxy!

I have interviews!

Let's get started this week with the Holocron Hall!

Oooh – mysterious!

As I am sure you have noticed, our Emperor is always talking about trying to get into the Holocron Hall vaults and failing but why? As the Emperor of the Galaxy, I think he should have access to everything in this Galaxy except Hutt and Wild space but I imagine that would be on a barter basis.

What makes The Vault so special?

Let's see what the current Senator of Holocrons, Augustine Miranda, has to say about it:

Hello! Let's skip the small-talk and get to the tradin-I mean, the important things. Tell us, is it overwhelming knowing so many secrets?

Augustine: Of course, the obligation of shielding and dealing with a tremendous store of information and insider facts can overpower on occasion. The holocrons can be awe-inspiring for their depths of wisdom and hidden truths. With humility and integrity, it is our responsibility to navigate this vast sea of knowledge, ensuring that the appropriate information reaches those who seek it.

Hidden truths? Maybe I am not reading my holocrons close enough... Now, the question of the hour – Is The Vault sentient?

Augustine: Despite the fact that the vault itself lacks intelligence, it protects the holocrons' ancient wisdom and prevents unauthorized access. It guards the integrity of the knowledge contained within its walls as a silent sentinel.

That sounds almost...magical! Wish I could reclaim that! But I am not truly buying that – let's assume that if it was, what does it say to you?

Augustine: However the vault doesn't have awareness, its presence says a lot. We are reminded of the significant responsibility we bear as stewards of the holocrons by its aura of reverence and respect. The sacred halls of the vault serve as a reminder of the significance of the knowledge it contains and the significance of its preservation for future generations.

Hmm-hmm. Still keeping these secrets close to the chest I see. Well, we'll move on. What is the most interesting holocron that you found in the Hall?

Augustine: Since each holocron has its own treasures and insights, it's hard to pick just one as the most fascinating. However, "The Jedi Order" is one holocron that has piqued my interest. It provides a window into the wisdom and experiences of those who upheld justice and harmony throughout the galaxy and includes firsthand accounts and records of the Jedi's trials, victories, and teachings.

Jedi's? Well...okay. What about a Holocron about Jawa's?! Why would you encourage someone to work in the Holocron Hall?

Augustine: Working in the Holocron Hall is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn about the lore and secrets of numerous civilizations. It is an opportunity to submerge oneself in the rich embroidery of history, science, reasoning, and culture. The quest for information and the conservation of old insight are respectable undertakings that can shape the future and add to the improvement of society.

What kind of individual should work in the Hall?

Augustine: The Holocron Hall would be ideal for a person with a deep passion for knowledge, unquenchable curiosity, and a profound reverence for the past. Essential qualities include meticulousness, a keen sense of responsibility, and attention to detail. Additionally, one would be able to navigate the holocrons' depths with wisdom and discernment if they had patience, were open-minded, and were willing to investigate a variety of viewpoints. Anyone wishing to make a significant contribution to the Holocron Hall must first and foremost have a passion for comprehending and preserving ancient wisdom.

Wow! I have an unquenchable curiosity for what histories and secrets this Hall keeps from the rest of the Galaxy! (Editor's note-  The Editor would like to remind Mr. Vlery that he is still extremely indebted to the Department of Tourism, and that he will not be leaving his posting anytime soon).

Well, I think one thing can be proven – the Archivists are going to keep the secrets to themselves!  You're just going to have to join them so see just what it is they're hiding.
