One cannot stop rumours from flying about, especially in a galaxy as closely knit as ours. But we get some very stange ones . .

I am used to hearing the oddest rumours, being in my position as Supreme Chancellor. Rumours about the former Emperor and how she 'disappeared' - ahem - rumours about the Emperor's . .er . .underthings and how he obtained the ones from the Hutt Cartel . . Rumours about - actually, they ALL seem to be about Emperor Arrikzane, now that I think of it!  But I have been hearing one more frequently that I take umbrage to! A nickname, that calls our own galactic history 'Star Wars, The Mother of -' oh, a whole bunch of things!

"Star wars, the Mother of our current era', Star Wars, the Mother of the Galactic Conquest Tournaments' even 'Star Wars, the Mother of the Blue Wookie Craze'

 

I dislike this very much! Sure, we've had our battles. A few skirmishes, a civel war or more, a dozen or so uprisings, Many cartels and rebellions and lots more - but I don't want our Galaxy synonymous with WAR! Besides, we have more planets than stars around here. 

 

Why not find a better nickname, like  . . oh . . "The Galaxy that we call Home' or 'The Galaxy Where you're not ALWAYS robbed!' or 'The Galaxy where we sometimes have Peace!' instead of all this - 'Star Wars, the Mother of Criminal Masterminds!' nonsense. 

 

In my office, I did come across a memo, from an anonymous source, suggesting that we name the entire Galaxy, 'Star Wars, the Mother of All!' Ridiculous! We will NOT be doing this! 

In a way, we are all family here in this Galaxy, as we all live here. But we are all varied and different. Why not, 'Star Wars, the FATHER of all?" Gah! now I'M doing it! Forget it! 'The GALAXY' is just fine! 

 

Now I did come across a strange thing in the Holocron Hall before I left. A reference to a Galactic Mother, one name 'Abeloth'. She called herself 'Queen of the Stars' and was a terrible being, twisted in her mind and who used her power in the worst of ways. The Siths and Jedis were forced to unite to defeat her and even then, it is not clear if she was entirely vanquished. But most of the stories I came across in regards to her seem incredibly far fetched and have the aroma of Legend and myth to them.  No doubt she is simply a tale to be used as a moral lesson  . . in one way or another. I am sure there is nothing to worry about. 

 

What are the odds that a nearly indestructable, time changing, Dark Force wielding, ageless woman with anger issues would ever appear on our horizon and wreak destruction and mayhem? Right! No need to worry. 

 

So relax, go about your lives and continue to enjoy the pleasures of the Galaxy and all that it brings. Don't forget to take any courses to hone your Piloting, Combat, or suvival skills, as well as learning about the amazing range of the creatures, cultures and planets in our Galaxy.
