In my latest research into the myterious 'Oracle', I began to wonder if perhaps Anakin and Padme, of old had ever visited it and made a record of anything useful regarding it. 

 

As we a little bit short staffed these days, I decided it might be a good idea to ask the public. Despite the debacle last time, I am all for second chances. So I asked if anyone had any records, rumors, accounts, anything they knew that might help in my research. 

 

I think I made a Big Mistake. 

 

Of course, you all know that Anakin and Padme refers to Anakin Skywalker, the infamous Jedi Knight, turned Dark Lord who made an indelible mark on this Galaxy and Padme was Queen Padme Amidala, his wife and the mother of the legendary Princess Leia and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. 

 

The first holo I received was this:

 

"Chancellor, I have long heard erroneous stories of Anakin and Padme. Let me tell you the REAL facts. Anakin first saw Padme at a party held by Obi-Wan. It was love at first sight! He spoke prose to her at her balcony and swore his love by the moon, which didn't please her. But they decided to marry in secret, helped by Yoda. But Obi and Padme's parents hated each other and the lovers were star crossed! Eventually, Padme went into a Force metitation state that mimiced death, to fool her family, leaving her free to run off with Anakin. But her note, informing him of her plan didn't reach him and he thought she was really dead! So he was heartbroken and ran himself through with a lightsaber and she woke to this terrible sight and - " 

 

Honestly, I stopped reading here. This is NOT what happened! (it sounds like an impressive story, though) But NONE of our historical records match any of this. It's a fantasy!

I hoped the next would be better. 

 

"I am so glad that you're looking into our history for these things. Anakin AND Padme are no doubt where the answers lie! I don't know anything about Anakin and Padme, but I am so glad that we're not just focused on him. Let's pay attention to the poor lady for once! After all, she probably wanted to go to the Oracle and he very like wouldn't ask for directions, and they maybe argued and that's why they didn't make it, possibly leading to him going to the Dark side!" 

 

I . . do not think so. 

But thank you for you . .ideas. 

I turned in desperation to a third holo! Surely this would have something real?

 

"This is excellent! I am so glad that I began to read this blog, it's so helpful! I think that Anakin and Padme are the perfect names for my new pet porgs!"

 

Gah! Not the help I was looking for! 

Perhaps this was not the way to find the information I  needed. Perhaps I need a new tack altogether. Perhaps I should give it up. What would Anakin and Padme do?
