Have you ever had one of those mornings where you feel old and creaky? Like a 180 year person took over your body while you slept? There may be more truth to it than we realize!
A strange holo file made it's way to my desk this week. A famous figure from history has been investigated for years for a variety of oddities. Captain Rex, as he is known, was a clone trooper general and worked with people infamous and famous from long ago.
Though a long novel could be written of all of Captain Rex's exploits and missions, I would like to focus our attention on some of the unique aspects of this commander.
For instance, while most famous figures have many different documents, holograms, recordings, etc from their area of the Galaxy, at least. But somehow, all the histories and documentation of Captain Rex is in drawings or flat holograms of a particular nature that is most peculiar. It is unclear whether this is due to the availabity of resources at the time or some punishment placed upon him (though I cannot find any evidence of this) or a strange effect of the Force upon the recordings, that is unexplained.
They are very readable and watchable, however. Captain Rex was quite impelling.
The other factor I would like to make note of is that he aged twenty years to every ten! (or rather, his cloned self did) This is a remarkable thing and got me to thinking. What if this is happening to more of us and we are unaware of it.
I would imagine that those close to Captain Rex would have investigated this aging process and could possibly have used this information against other people. To what purpose I can only guess. Perhaps to use Captain Rex's abilities to find a way to STOP aging or to slow it down? It seems counter-intuitive to play with making people OLDER, faster, to do this, but scientists are strange and I could envision them doing this.

According to the accounts of witnesses, he was a commander who cared about the wellbeing of the soldiers under his command and it occurred to me that perhaps Captain Rex felt the responsility so keenly that he actually aged faster! But then, if that were so, I would imagine that we would see that more often. My personal bodyguards would be ancient by now!
From all I have heard about him, his loyalty and skill, I would certianly wish that Captain Rex was someone that I could work with today! There is a job for him here, that is for certain! However, it's just as well. We have excellent people here and no doubt, many will end up in legend and song in their own right. It makes one proud to think about. Hopefully none of them will be prematurely aged.
Whether they are or not, I know that they will make their Galaxy proud! (or end up incredibly infamous, but I live ever in hope!)
While I didn't find a winning topic on the exact theme of this week, I couldn't leave you bereft! Especially when there were so many great topics out there!
