"The Darth Maul"

Never underestimate what can be found on the moons of planets - they often are surprising! 

I was recently visiting a small village on one of the seven moons of Korriban, Now, many planets celebrate their moons. They will have entire cities on them, or vacation  spots, viewing areas, docks and ports, you name it! 

 

Some are left barren, being too small for much, or with little atmosphere to provide much and are simply rocks orbiting the main planet. 
This one was somewhere in between. Certain small civilizations existed there, but few visited and there was nothing to make you remember them. They eked out their lives and were mostly left alone. 

Still, they made me feel as welcome as anywhere on Korriban does and after my first night there, I was getting ready to depart when to my great surprise, one of the elders asked me to wait and exclaimed "You must see Darth Maul!"

 

For a moment I was speechless and confused. Darth Maul? Darth Maul had perished long ago! However, the Dark Lord had shown a shocking resiliance and was so infused by the Dark side of the force, that he had proven to be incredibly hard to destroy - even surviving being cut in half! So for that moment, I have expected to see Darth Maul himself stride through the dust clouds and weild that famous double bladed lightsaber! 

But of course, nothing happened. I agreed to let them take me to 'Darth Maul', signalling to my guards to be on alert and wondering what I was about to see! 

 

To my great wonderment, I was not let to a person at all, but to a rather imposing building. When we entered, we found it was an intricate shopping area! A market. The elder spoke with great excitement about how this was going to finally put their village on the map! 

I stood, blinking and wondering if my eyes were simply missing all the Darth Maul statues and banners, but then it finally hit me.  It was a Darth MALL. I am still unsure why they called it 'Darth' but I assume it had to do  with their proximity to Korriban and attempting to draw more Siths in to make purchases. 

I tried to keep my chuckled to myself and allowed them to give me a tour. It's really a lovely market place, with everything in it, including a food court! 

 

Shops for weapons, survival gear, droids, real estate, even fashion stores with everything from quality robes, to leather jackets and embroidered gowns! Shoes, traveling baggage and even a pet emporium. It's really something else. I don't know that there's anything on the main planet to compete with it. 

I highly recommend it if you're ever on Korriban's seventh moon. 

On weekends they have sales and you needn't fear - Darth Maul won't show up! Well, I assume so. He's been long gone for many decades and is about as detestable as the Darth Mall is delightful. So come on by and bring the whole family!
