Do you have a love of art? Do you have artistic talent or skill or even the hope of aquiring some?
Then read on!
Many planets in the Galaxy have struggled to thrive. Over the centuries we have overcome wars and oppression and become known for our ability to survive.
But has that survival instinct threatened to subdue the creative, artistic and thriving instincts that are also inside us all?
I know that it has not, entirely, as I have seen it with my own eyes. Over the years, scientists across the planets have created cities underwater and over it (depending on their natural climate) and developed ways for visiting species to live comfortably regardless of their preference.
I have seen arms dealers create weapons using imaginations the size planets themselves!
The markets overflow with items that boggle the mind and show great creativity, as do the selling techniques.
Travelling around shows infinite architecture, design and thought, so that one could never become bored or run out of new things to see or experience!
But I have also heard and seen that in many cases, stepping outside of the familiar has become a feared or 'frivolous' thing in the minds of those who are trying to make do.
In those minds, it is best to keep one's head down, make enough credits to keep what one has and hope for the best.
It is a reasonable way to survive, but not to THRIVE.
To them, following a dream or pursuing artisitic talent, such as music, painting, art, craftmanship, making something new, dance , porg juggling, just to name a few may seem like a risky endeavor and not to be attempted.
But we must not lose these skills either. We must, as a Galaxy, continue to encourage these abilities and to develop new ones, so that we can move forward with our culture and beauty!
That is why I am opening the Sabine Wren Fund for New Artists. It is a scholarship program for those seeking, seriously, to develop their skills and share them with the rest of us.
Sabine Wren was an artist herself, able to express her opinions and thoughts through amazing graffiti work.
She was also a warrior and did many heroic feats, but will go down in history as creating the symbol of Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Sabine Wren believed in the power of hope, in the power of a picture and how it could affect people. Sabine Wren was not afraid to step up and go against the normal flow of thought in order to say something she felt was important. Not just for herself, but for others.
The Sabine Wren Fund for New Artists is for anyone, young or old, who feels that they have a yearning to express themselves through artistic endeavor, but have no way to do it on their own.
As we believe Sabine Wren would have helped them, since she helped so many - we will help, also. It is a fund to provide some basic supplies and some training in the particular skill, if needed.
So do not be afraid to step up and help make the Galaxy a more beautiful, cultured and expressive place!
Sabine Wren did, after all, while fighting for it at the same time.
Who knows what else may be uncovered in the nooks and crannies of the Galaxy? Whether it is something uncovered in the Holocron Hall, Brought to light by the Scanners or Discovered on a small planet in the Outer Rim, it shall be brought before you to learn about, discuss or react to!
Together, we shall find these Secrets of the Galaxy!
