Blog No.66
I felt that I had learned some helpful things and been inspired by the citizens I had spoken with in my office and thought I would do so once more.
Once again, I sent out some people to find a member of the Galaxy to bring in (INVITE in) so I can find out more about them and their view of the galaxy at this time.
They found a young Sith who agreed to come and speak with me.
I welcomed Varek Finn into the office, offered him a drink (I had borrowed some Dark Cider from the Emporer's cupboard for the occasion as I usually only keep water and milk on hand)
Me: "Thank you so much for coming, Varek Fenn. I know you must be busy with studies and I appreciate it. Please take a seat and we'll get started. Can you tell me which planet you originate from and something about that?"
Varek: “By all means. I am from the planet of Kiffex, home of my people, the Kiffar. Though the planet may be more known for its detention centers and prisons, it hosts a number of Kiffar clans (such as the Fenn clan) and has a rich agricultural environment.”
Me: "How interesting! I wonder if they use those in the centers to help with the farming? But anyway - I see that you are a Sith and I wondered if you are apprenticed to a Sith Lord - but I understand you probably couldn't tell me that. Still, is there anything about the Siths that you could share with those who may not be as familiar?"
Varek: “Contrary to popular belief, the Sith are not evil people. We simply see true power and decide to use it as it was always meant to be used. Why should one lose a battle due to anger when emotions are simply tools to success?”
Me: "That is an intriguing viewpoint. I have worked with many people of the Sith Faction and have a great belief in the good in them. When they don't choke it out, of course. What piece of advice or travel tip would you give to someone who is new to the Galaxy?"
Varek: “The Galaxy is full of a diverse number of people. Opportunities to gain favours abound and it is often wise to learn of your opponents before they learn of you. Wherever you go, the right approach can manipulate the circumstances in your favour.”
Me: "That sounds . .much like something the Emperor would agree with. But I also agree that the right approach is important.
I know that most of the Siths of my acquaintance are fairly ambitious. What is your ambition, in life?"
Varek: “That is a difficult question to answer. To put it simply, to pursue power and vengeance. My clan will live to regret the injustices done against me and I shall acquire the power I have always been owed.”
Me: "Oh! Well, I . . " Here I had to lean back a bit and make sure my guards didn't see my guest as a threat. "I can see that you certainly have a goal in mind. Purpose is so helpful. I don't want to keep you from your . . plans for avenging, but as a final thing before you go, would you mind demonstrating something you have learned? Either in your Force studies, or something you have a skill or interest in?"
Varek: “One thing that is rather fascinating to me is the concept of meditation. As a Kiffar, I was born with the rare ability of learning the memories of objects by touch. By meditating on my anger, I have found it possible to amplify my ability. Some objects require extra.. Convincing to be persuaded to share their secrets. But anger is a powerful tool.”
Varik held up the glass of dark cider he had been sipping throughout the conversation and concentrated on it for a moment. His jaw clenched and he gripped it tighter as his face darkened for a second.
“For example, a very powerful Sith Lord has drunk this very beverage from this glass before.” The man’s dark eyes moved from the glass to the chancellor with an almost contemplative expression. “But, of course, it must have been the Emperor himself. After all, what manner of dealings would you have with anyone besides him of similar power?”
My eyebrows were raised and I could only express my amazement, before thanking him and letting my guards usher him back outside, with a bottle of Dark Cider as a gift.
I would have to be very careful what I handed to him, if we ever came across each other again!

She tried to run over to where her doll was and she did get about halfway before she face planted onto the snow that filled a bit of the cave. "Ow," she whined as she sat up and sniffled
