Installment #2 // Written by: Xavier Lancaster
Cobra Kai?
Hello there! Welcome back to the second installment of 'Meet The Team!', where I (Xavier Lancaster) conduct interviews with our very own staff members on the site. This is so that new members may get a chance to know the site through its current members.
Today's guest is a face that most of you will recognise, for he is an active and prominent member on our site. As mischievous as he is resourceful, and a man of many names, I'd like to welcome our Martial Arts Master, Simion 'Sinnamon' Simeon!
Xavier: Hello Simion, thank you for being here today. I hope you're doing well, and that the new year is treating you kindly! I wanted to start off nice and easy today, how are you?
Simion: Hello there, Uncle, thank you for having me. I'm doing quite well. I hope you are doing good too. The new year has been quite nice to me, I got engaged to my lovely fiancé Tori Cosma.
Xavier: Yes you did, and congrats to you both! I hope to be attending the wedding, haha. To kickstart this interview, I wanted to ask: I've heard a few rumours surrounding yourself and Emperor Djenn, which has certainly piqued many if our interests. May I ask what happened? We do love a little bit of drama here, and I'm itching to find out the root to this conflict!
Simion: Rumors with the Emperor. Well I do work for him, as you know I am one of his personal body guards and when he goes to places I do go with him, also because I am his apprentice as well. But I also may or may not have failed my Sith Exam with him out of fear, if that the rumor you are speaking about. He said something about teaching a lesson and having a private meeting about it.
Xavier: Thats not ominous at all, I wish you all the best with that, and that you're still with us in one piece, haha. Now, you've been a Master on our site for quite a while now, and you're certainly a face that many would have come across. What made you want to teach Martial Arts? Was it prior experience that you had, or did you just think it was an interesting subject?
Simion: Yes I love being a Master here. Its fantastic as I get to meet different students and teach them different stuff. Well I first started learning karate when my mother, Skye, was a teacher before she became the Hutt Leader. She taught me few things here and there, and now I'm a Master.
Xavier: Skye certainly seems like she was a great techer, and what a leader she was! The Cartel was lucky to have her, and are equally as lucky to have our new Daimyo, Mr Cephas Bolt. Expanding on this, I wanted to ask if you had any advice to give to anyone who may be considering applying for a Master position? You've been excelling through your lesson writing, do you have a method to your skills?
Simion: Advice on being a Master? Lord, I'm not the best person to ask for advice, but to the people that want to apply I would say go for it. There so many fun classes and Arrik and Tessa are the most chill and best bosses. I don't really have a method, just whenever I have an idea I just write it. Most my lessons are based off Cobra Kai. Thats my favorite show and its given me a lot of inspiration. I wanted to be just like Sensei Lawrence and be a little badass.
Xavier: I've never seen it! However I have heard great things, maybe one day I'll watch it and see your lessons in it! I also agree that the Emperor and Supreme Chancellor are amazing bosses, i myself have experienced nothing but support with them. To continue, I want to talk a bit more about your class. What would you say your favourite lesson has been so far?
Simion: God thats a tough one, my favorite lesson? It's the 'Wax On Wax Off' get to stick students in the womp rat room, and they learn to clean the floors and stuff just like the karate kid movie.
Xavier: There's no learning without manual labour, haha! Now, this may just be a question I'd like to know personally, but Simion is an apprentice in the Sith Academy, correct? How is that going for him, is it what he expected?
Simion: Oh, the academy. It's going. As I said earlier, Master Arrik wasn't pleased, as I didn't pass the exam. I can't really talk about what happens in the exam but uhm yeah.
Xavier: It's not all sunshine and rainbows at the Academy then, which is to be expected. Again, i wish you the best of luck, we're all rooting for you! Speaking of the academy etc, was Simion being a Sith always something you'd planned for, or anticipated? How do you think it's affected his character, and would he have turned our different if he was apart of a different faction?
Simion: He was born a Sith. He's still learning under Arrik's teaching. He might not be the best sith but hes learning.
Xavier: He's trying his best, and thats all you can really do in such things! What are some future plans you have for Simion?
Simion: My plans are having a family with Tori and becoming the most badass Sith ever. I look up to the old Hutt Ambassador, Malic (even though I never met him). I wanna be bad like that lol.
Xavier: Of course, I've heard a lot about malic, what a reputation he has. Thank you so much for taking the time to be here today, Simion, it was a pleasure!
