"Sabacc Attack!"

Okay, now one thing a leader must resign themselves to is dealing with a lot of rumours.

Some are decidely nasty and others are simply annoying, like swarms of biting gnats. A few are able to twist them into fame boosting engines, but that's a skill few of us have - and I certainly don't!

Most of them don't bother me much and I can ignore them. Truth will always out eventually and people will see it or will never see it and there it is. Except for this one!

Sabacc.

As no doubt you all know from a young age, Sabacc is a card game, well known and played by many in the galaxy. Whether you are a skilled card-sharp or a family, simply enjoying game night, Sabacc is played all across the planets.

There are different versions, too, such as Kessell Sabacc and Regular. People have been shot with blasters for cheating and fortunes been made and lost over this game of chance.

However it is not exactly a 'simple' game. There are many rules, possibilities, things to remember and chance as well in this game.

I was not brought up on this game. I knew of it, naturally. I would see the old farmers playing it in the mercantile and my own mother was a whiz at the game and no one would play her!

But she never taught me.

She offered once, and I'm sorry to say that I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to pick it up and I made an excuse and avoided it. I was much more shy then.

So when a kind gentleman and Master in our academies offered to teach me, I was pleased and agreed to learn. What a wonderful opportunity! It seemed fairly simple and I was muddling along all right with my new Sabacc compatriots. I won a little, then lost a bit and then won and - we got interrupted and next thing I know there's a rumor going around that I CHEATED!

ME?! Cheating in Sabacc?! I was just learning the game! I couldn't have cheated if I'd tried! Not to mention that I was being taught by the Master of Strategy, who is not exactly known for his above board tendencies. (and is now the leader of the Hutt Cartel!) I KNOW that something was going on, but it wasn't me cheating!

It has been years and that rumor still persists. I would very much like to clear the air and my good name. I, of course, have not played since and I will not again until this slander is no more.

So enjoy Sabacc - but play carefully. And be mindful of who you learn it from!

Maybe I'll try my hand at darts. Although, since I can't see very well, that may not be the best idea either. Well, we'll see. Let me know if you think of any other game I should consider. I promise on anything you can possibly put before me that I DID NOT CHEAT! Thank you.

A Quote from the topic:

Lena didn't know what a Tarc was. She presumed that the language 'Tarc' was synonymous with the giant, lobster creature coming from the dark depths of the corridor outside her cell, but equally she did have a nasty head injury, and it could've just been a sad hallucination.

Our next theme of the week is:
