"Meiloorun Madness"

Today, I would like to discuss something very simple, yet wildly popular at the moment. 

The Meiloorun fruit! 

 

This vibrant fruit has long been a staple in many areas of the Galaxy, yet it has suddenly become a strangely trendy produce. 

Perhaps it is because the Emperor has been known to claim it as his favorite food to eat. (and leave the peelings on MY desk, even though he didn't eat it here and has his own cleaning droids!) 

 

Suddenly, everyone wanted the reddish fruit, with it's small spikes and fresh taste. It has a strangely mysterious air to it as well, since no one really seems to know where they are harvested. While they are exported to many places, the real orchards are a closely guarded secret and it seems ridiculous that this should be so! But Meiloorun fruit are thus more of a specialty and maybe the real reason was just so that the prices would soar. 

 

But it's not just the price of Meiloorun fruit that I'm bringing to you today - it's gone crazy! There are now SHIPS in the shape and color of Meiloorun fruit! If you are traveling to the Outer Rim planets and think that you saw a giant Meiloorun fruit flashing by - you were right. There are now specialty paint jobs and speeders and all sorts of the luxury lines creating these things! 

 

There are DROIDS being built to look like the spikey snacks. Can you imagine getting mechanical assistance from a beeping Meiloorun fruit?! It's bizarre! 

Yet rather whimsical at the same time. I have heard that certain of these ships even are SCENTED like the fruit on the inside, as well!

 

I wonder now, if this is a thing that will fade quickly, just a fad. Or is it going to cycle through all the fruit? Will it simply be anything that Emperor Arrikzane says that he likes? What is happening? There's even a rumour that a new dance called 'The Meiloorun' is coming to all the Cantinas and clubs! 

I cannot even imagine what that will look like! 

 

What do you think? Would you spend extra to travel in a giant fruit? 

 

I would think that trying to bring a giant Meiloorun Fruit into Ports would be difficult to do, but then, I don't pilot my own ships, so I wouldn't know. 

Perhaps some of you would relish the challenge. 

Some Meilooruns are purple, so there might be some variety coming out soon, I'm not sure. I DO know that they are very, very expensive. 

 

Please let me know what kind of luxury ship you WOULD go for, if not a giant Meiloorun. i would be interested to know where your interest lies in this matter. In the meantime, I mainly just want these peels to stop appearing on my desk!

 

(Arrikzane, I KNOW It's you! Even when you arrange the peels into faces, it's not that cute!) 

ANYWAY - I hope that this is just a fad, but maybe I'm too old-fashioned. Maybe flying fruit is a nice bright spot in the deep dark of space.
